About Suzanne & The Story of the Rosaries
suzanneWhen we talk to God about our own needs, it is called prayer. When we talk to God about the needs of others, it is called “intercessory” prayer.  There are individuals scattered throughout the world who are dedicated to praying for others – they are known as intercessors.  In my mind, they are the unsung heroes who time and again change the course of history in their own hidden way, by their own simple prayers.  My mother was such a person.

My original intention for Servant Rosaries was to create hand made rosaries in memory of my mother, Lucille Arbour Paré. In time, I realized that I could best honor her memory by creating rosaries that were specifically designed for people who have cancer, have been affected by cancer, know someone who is struggling with cancer, or simply want to give a meaningful gift to someone suffering with cancer.  It was then that I decided to feature the colors that have been designated by the American Cancer Society to represent all the different types of cancer.  Eventually, I decided to develop a web site where individuals suffering with cancer could ask for prayers or volunteer to pray for the intentions that would be expressed there.

The Rosary is a very powerful symbol of faith and tradition. When I hold a rosary, I immediately picture my grandmother sitting on her front porch, faithfully praying for the grace that accompanied her throughout her lifetime... I think about the countless, hidden individuals who have used this traditional form of prayer to cope with life’s trials and difficulties…  I picture my mom, clinging to her rosary at the most difficult time of her life, courageously echoing Our Lady’s own Fiat as she embraced the mysterious ways of God.

When I make Servant Rosaries, I pray for the individuals who will receive them; I ask God to be intimately present to them, and to provide what He alone can provide.  I also pray that Our Blessed Mother will bring them comfort and give them the grace to persevere in the face of uncertainty.

I am convinced that under our Lady’s patronage, regardless of physical location or distance, we can positively affect the lives of people who are suffering with cancer by saturating them with our simple love and prayers.
